About the Federation ...

he Federation of North Carolina Historical Societies is a coalition of societies, associations, and commissions located throughout the state that are dedicated to preserving and promoting history in North Carolina. An advisory board made up of members of historical organizations from across the state oversees the work of the Federation. Membership dues are only $25 per year.

Membership is encouraged for any group in North Carolina concerned with history, whether on a local, regional, or state level. Some member organizations have a statewide focus, while others may be dedicated to a single project like restoring a historic building in the county. Agencies are billed in January, but organizations can join at any time.

The Federation co-sponsors National History Day in North Carolina.
